BLUEBIRD CHECK-IN

Unique Experience

Please be forewarned, staying on a boat is a VERY unique experience and many things are different to being a landlubber in standard accommodation (or a hotel for that matter), in terms of staff, electricity, water supply, pumping out after showers, toilet flush systems, etc. All the IMPORTANT FEATURES OF THIS BOAT are highlighted at the start of the check-in index. Should you require assistance - please refer to HELP DURING YOUR STAY.

IMPORTANT FEATURES OF THIS BOAT

  • Make sure there is water in the toilet bowl otherwise unpleasant smells travel back from the holding tank.
  • DO NOT FLUSH AWAY SANITARY PRODUCTS OR EXCESS TOILET PAPER AS THIS CAUSES BLOCKAGES FOR WHICH THERE WILL BE A CHARGE IF ANY PLUMBING IS REQUIRED.
  • To operate the lights, make sure the main switches by the helm/steering wheel are turned on.
  • Whilst watching TV, turn off the under-unit lights in the galley/kitchen as we have discovered this mysteriously interferes with the TV reception!
  • If water runs cold from overuse/too many lengthy showers one after the other, it takes about half an hour for the tank to re-heat.
  • If the cooker is turned off at the mains (labelled 'COOKER'), it will not work again when turned back on unless all the little buttons above the cooker door are pressed in simultaneously. If there is absolutely no electric to the cooker, please check that the electric tower has not tripped.
  • The use of too many heat generated items at the same time may trip the electrics as boats only have minimal power supply (16AMPS) for safety reasons. In other words, do not use any extra plug-in heating at the same time and/or together with the toaster, kettle, hairdryer and/or cooker, etc.
  • DO NOT turn off or tamper with the wall heaters in the master cabin and dining/seating area. If it is too hot, please open doors and windows as turning off this heating WILL NOT automatically alter the temperature as this is storage heating, not instant heating.
  • It is natural during colder months for boats to be damper and cause condensation. As such, it is important for the dehumidifier to be running at all times (with doors/windows closed) and that the water collection tray is emptied regularly.
WE HAVE AN ALPHABETICAL 'HELP FOLDER' ON BOARD TO ASSIST WITH ANY ISSUES DURING YOUR STAY.

*Boat code will be provided by separate text / email the day prior to arrival* Locate the last pontoon / walkway leading to RIVERSCAPES STAYCATIONS. This pontoon is right next to the RIVERSCAPES BANNER. Walk down this pontoon and “Bluebird” is the 1st boat on the right. Board from the back deck. Please take care, ESPECIALLY if it has been raining or is cold and icy as areas around boats can get extremely slippery! There is a lockbox situated on the right hand wall of the rear deck and *Enter Boat Code*.

Number of Guests / Bed Configuration / Prices

Only paying guests are permitted entry into the Marina / On Board and ALL visitors MUST obtain advance authorisation. Whilst you will have exclusive use of the boat, please note that only the number of guests on the booking are permitted access. In other words, if 2 guests have booked, this does not mean that more can tag along for the same price. Furthermore, our base price is that of a moored stay for 2 guests / a couple sharing the master cabin. If 2 guests have booked but wish to have their own cabin, this will be at an extra charge of £45/guest if not arranged and paid for in advance. This charge covers extra laundry and cleaning.
