By arriving on board, all guests on the booking have been made aware of, and agree to, all our TERMS & CONDITIONS.

UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

Please be forewarned, staying on a boat is a VERY unique experience and many things are different to being a landlubber in standard accommodation (or a hotel for that matter), in terms of staff, electricity, water supply, pumping out after showers, toilet flush systems, etc.  Should you require assistance during your stay, please refer to the extensive alphabetical HELP FOLDER on board.

QUIRKS OF THIS BOAT

  • To flush away toilet contents, make sure the lever to the right of the toilet is positioned to the right when pumping. To refill with clean water, position the lever to the left.  LOCK AFTER EACH USE.

  • Make sure there is water in the toilet bowl otherwise unpleasant smells travel back from the holding tank.

  • DO NOT FLUSH AWAY SANITARY PRODUCTS OR EXCESS TOILET PAPER AS THIS CAUSES BLOCKAGES.

  • Whilst showering, please be aware that water comes in faster than it drains out so use water sparingly otherwise it floods the bathroom floor.

  • The drawers throughout the boat need lifting up before trying to pull them out.

  • If the light in the front toilet room is turned on, this automatically activates the extractor fan.  Turn the light off after use otherwise the fan continues to run.

Please do not call or try and find us at the MAIN PENTON HOOK office via Gate 1 opposite the Thorpe Park entrance as we are located on the opposite side of the complex at Gate 4 or Gate 5 on Staines Road - SEE HERE.   

From Chertsey to Staines on Staines Road, cross over the Thorpe Park roundabout and Gate 5 is the second gate on the right - SEE IMAGE.

From Staines to Chertsey on Staines Road, Gate 5 is on the left before the Thorpe Park round-about.

DIRECTIONS FROM GATE 5

Upon entry, TURN IMMEDIATELY LEFT at TBS Boat Sales and park at the bottom of the car park near the RIVERSCAPES BANNER by the TOILET BLOCK / BBQ AREA. If Gate 5 is locked, go to Gate 4 - see below or HERE

*SWIPE ACCESS CARD OVER THE KEY PAD on the main gate. Then follow the road all the way around to the left. Turn right at Gate 5 / TBS Boat Sales and park at the bottom of the car park near the RIVERSCAPES BANNER by the TOILET BLOCK / BBQ AREA.

ENTERING AND LEAVING THE MARINA AFTER ARRIVAL

If Gate 5 is locked, use Gate 4. To exit via Gate 4, turn left at TBS Boat Sales / Gate 5 and follow the road all the way around the right - please be aware that the automatic gate opens inwards. An access card is not required to leave the premises (ie. on departure, please leave this access card on the boat) BUT you will require it to re-enter Gate 4 after 6pm when all marina gates are locked.

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT

  • Check-in:     From 5pm unless otherwise arranged

  • Check-out:   Before 12 noon on the day of departure unless otherwise arranged

EARLY CHECK-IN/LATE CHECK-OUT

Dependent on previous/follow-on bookings, this can be arranged in advance for an additional £15/hour.  Please email us at info@riverscapes.co.uk to pre-approve.

Please note, early check-ins and late check-outs do not include extended use of the hot tub.  In other words, before 5pm on the day of arrival and after 12 noon on the day of departure, this facility is not available.  Water sports and bikes are included in early check-ins or late check-outs.

FINDING THE BOAT - "FRENCH LEAVE"

*Boat code will be provided by separate text / email the day prior to arrival*

Locate the last pontoon/walkway leading to RIVERSCAPES STAYCATIONS.  This pontoon is right next to the RIVERSCAPES BANNER.  Walk down this pontoon and “French Leave” is on the right.  Board from the back deck or side steps.  Please take care, ESPECIALLY if it has been raining or is cold and icy as areas around boats can get extremely slippery!  There is a lockbox on the rear deck and *Enter Boat Code*.  

NUMBER OF GUESTS/PRICES

Only paying guests are permitted entry into the Marina / On Board and ALL visitors MUST obtain advance authorisation.

Whilst you will have exclusive use of the boat, please note that only the number of guests on the booking are permitted access.  In other words, if 2 guests have booked, this does not mean that more can tag along for the same price.  Furthermore, our base price is that of a moored stay for 2 guests/a couple sharing the master cabin.  If 2 guests have booked but wish to have their own cabin, this will be at an extra charge of £45/guest/night if not arranged and paid for in advance.  This charge covers extra laundry and cleaning.

We suggest searching local pubs and restaurants using TRIP ADVISOR.  Since the pandemic, we are re-building our list of local recommendations so please feel free to drop us a message with any you highly recommend - or not as the case may be!

DELIVERIES/TAKE-AWAY SERVICES

We suggest on-line orders with Deliveroo, Just Eat or Uber Eats – provide the driver with our address and collect your order from Gate 5.

NEAREST GROCERCIES

  • ASDA Convenience Store - Chertsey Lane, TW18 3LS.  Turn right out of the marina and ASDA is located 0.7 miles away, on the left.

  • Sainsburys – The Causeway, Staines, TW18 3AP.  Turn right out of the marina and Sainsbury’s is located 2.5 miles away.

PLACES OF INTEREST

Enjoy the plenty of places of interest to visit in the area including historic monuments, market towns, museums, racecourses and theme parks.  Direct trains to Central London from Staines take approximately 35 minutes should guests wish to sample the many tourist attractions there too.  Visit the PLACES OF INTEREST page for more information.

There is an extensive alphabetical HELP FOLDER on board should you run into any difficulties with power cuts, how to use the toilet, etc. 

We do understand, however, that at times an emergency might occur.  In this case, please contact our Ops Manager whose business card is left on board with the guest book.  Or e-mail info@riverscapes.co.uk marked 'URGENT'.  Please note however, we do not have 24 hour cover. 

COVID-19

Whilst we have always taken pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, we have now stepped up our cleaning procedures to make them even more rigorous. CLICK HERE for more information on what to expect during your stay.

UPON DEPARTURE

PLEASE:

  • Close all windows, outside doors and the skylight in the dining area.

  • Leave all internal doors open so that air can circulate.

  • Turn off all lights.

  • Wash up all used dishes/cups/glasses/pots, etc.

  • All rubbish to be placed in black bin liners, tied securely and disposed of in the main marina bins.

  • Empty dehumidifier and leave switched on – near dining area/winter only.

  • Turn off PS3 (if used).

  • Return cushions (if used).

  • Return life jackets (if used).

  • Clean BBQ (if used).

  • DO NOT TAKE THE MDL ACCESS CARD.

  • Lock up and scramble the code.
